Wines of the Canary Islands

The canary wine has had a great recognition throughout history. It was consumed by kings like Francis I of France, Charles III of Spain and Alexander I of Russia and the English playwright William Shakespeare also praised it in his works: “But I faith, you have drunk too much Canaries and that’s a marvellous searching wine, and it perfumes the blood ere one can say: What’s this?”.
